Creekside Nursery is located just outside of Hempstead, Texas on FM 1887. It began to develop in 1992 when the owner decided to find an alternative use for this land.
In the fall of 1992, two acres of the property held a variety of container plants, primarily on an experimental basis. These first eight blocks were more of a hobby than a business. By August of 1993, the decision was made to increase from a two-acre experiment to a twelve acre growing facility. The decision was made to again increase in January of 1995, this time increasing from twelve acres to forty acres. At this point, a corporation began to develop, and in December of 1995, Creekside Nursery, L.L.C. was formed.
Just prior to its incorporation, in 1995, Creekside Nursery hired its first salesman. One and a half years later, a second sales person was hired. In order to keep up with the growing demand and increasing customer base, Creekside needed more space. Once again, in the spring of 1997, another increase was made from forty acres to one hundred twenty acres that would be dedicated to container production.
Creekside Nursery has continuously expanded its growing facilities and product list. Our staff is second to none and we have composed a team of experienced leaders in our industry to operate and grow product on the now over 300 acres that are now used for nursery production.
Creekside Nursery, L.L.C. strives to stay abreast with current technology, and we attempt to automate and mechanize wherever practical. The use of 3 potting machine has revolutionized the productivity level at Creekside. In 2000 we moved away from a pallet loading system to a conveyor loading system to load our delivery fleet faster and more efficiently. Creekside Nursery is dedicated to providing quality products with quality service and by automating much of our operation, we allow ourselves to pay the maximum attention to our product and our customers.
Our department managers as well as the field supervisors are continuously challenged to find more efficient ways to utilize our space and time in order to grow at our very best. As we have been in an expansion mode for much of our existence, Creekside Nursery is always an exciting place to be! Our product mix continuously evolves and has expanded to include Trees, Shrubs, Tropicals, Ornamental Grasses, Ground Covers, Annuals as well as Perennials, and now a new line of specialty ornamentals that include citrus and topiaries.
You can expect in our future a continued determination to provide our existing and our potential customers with quality service, care, and quality products. We improve our operations on a daily basis and intend to continue this tradition of excellence for years and decades to come.
